Barnardo's Caern Project have been delivering a variety of quality services for young people with disabilities and/or autism for over forty years.
We have a community house in Midlothian where we provide full-time residential care for a number of young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Using a person centred approach we aspire to create an environment in which the young people are happy, nurtured and safe.
We aim to enhance the young people's lives by supporting them to develop their independence in both the domestic environment and the community.
Ideally you will have experience within a social care setting, possess qualifications for registration with the SSSC as a Residential Child Care Worker and have experience of working with challenging behaviour.
We have a full time (37 hours per week) night shift position to fill. Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis including weekends and sleepovers will be part of your contract when required.
Please see the attached job and person profile and pay particular attention to Additional Information attachment.
At Barnardo's we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. Our safer recruitment processes mean that the safety and welfare of the child is paramount at every stage of the process and therefore, we adopt rigorous scrutiny in our pre-employment checking.
