We wish to employ a PT Youth Mental Health Worker to develop and deliver a package of support with a specific focus
on youth mental health & emotional well-being through a range of activities such as group work, 1-2-1s,
information sessions, campaigns and other relevant activities.
Using current campaigns, media and youth issues as the platform for initial discussion the group work would involve
sessions where the young people identify issues and look at ways of addressing these.
This would be delivered through arts and social media sessions to form their own campaigns which would be
acknowledged through the club and supported by all staff e.g. mental health week, anti-bullying week to name a
few suggestions. The campaigns would focus on promoting positive mental health & well-being and promote the
already and free existing activities available at Pavillion such as fitness, art & music as well as shape
new activities where gaps exist.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as point-of-contact to liaise and meet regularly with all project partners, taking responsibility for
communication and sharing of information, and provide feedback on progression of ongoing work.
all aspects of the programme and ensure it delivers the agreed outputs and outcomes.
- Work closely with
the Manager to establish project goals and ensure they are achieved.
- Establish and maintain agreed
timetables and budgets.
- Ensure an appropriate monitoring and evaluation framework is place for all
aspects of the programme.
- Ensure all information is shared with sensitivity, demonstrating awareness of
data protection and copyright legislation;
Skills, abilities and knowledge
- Ability to work in a participative way with young people.
- SVQ Level 3 in youth work
verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information in an engaging and
effective way with young people.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- Ability to build positive
working relationships with young people.
- Good general ICT literacy, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
Knowledge of web writing skills, and familiarity with social media.
- Ability to work independently
without close supervision, to be self-motivating and act with judgement and initiative.
- Ability to plan,
prioritise and manage a diverse programme of work, and to deliver planned outcomes to competing agendas and
deadlines, with the flexibility needed to respond to new demands.
- Ability to manage projects, including
collaborations with external partners.
- Familiarity with the work of The Pavillion
- Flexibility working hours – evening and weekend work

- Child Protection trained or willingness to undertake this
- Experience of supporting/developing Podcasts

- Substantial experience of working in a co-ordination capacity and/or administrative role within the youth work
- Experience of project management in the youth work sector.

young people experiencing mental health issues.
