We are looking for a full-time Volunteer Coordinator, 5 days a week, to recruit, induct, train and allocate Volunteers to a task or activity which will enable them, our Members and our community to flourish.
The GCP is based at the Grassmarket Centre on Candlemaker Row in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The role is flexible and some work can be carried out from home and tailored to your current life or work commitments. Ideally you will be able to attend the project in person 3 days a week. Some early evenings and some weekend working is required at times. An appropriate working pattern can be agreed.
We are looking for someone to join our multi-award-winning social enterprise charity with excellent people skills. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to best present our community to prospective volunteers as well as communicate policies and procedures that keep our Volunteers safe and hold them to account. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for reporting on Volunteer achievements and outcomes for the project as well training hours, training feedback and any wider improvements that can be made to the Volunteer’s experience in the Grassmarket Community Project.
As part of the team, the role may also involve community fundraising initiatives, collaboration with other team members, students on placement and any other task. We are a small team with a broad remit. This is achieved by having a flexible, creative and supportive approach to how we operate and support people. You will be able to work on your own initiative, be monitored periodically, identify your own learning and support needs as well as prioritise your workload to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.
