We are looking for a talented Officer to help us deliver a new Income Maximisation service in East Lothian. The role will be helping to deliver the Parental Employability Support Fund (PESF) alongside our partners East Lothian Works. This Scottish Government fund is aimed primarily at families coping with in-work poverty, whilst including those looking for support to find sustainable and fair work.
You will support parents and families to improve their financial situation and employment prospects by providing a 1:1 advice service and working closely with employability and learning team colleagues. You will help alleviate immediate financial hardship and explore options available to people, to reduce the impact of poverty.
We would expect the successful candidate to have a background in Welfare Rights advice delivery, be fully conversant with current in and out of work benefits and have experience of managing a caseload of clients. Working as part of a wider PESF team, we need someone who will also be able to work effectively on their own.

Please note due to COVID-19 restrictions, the recruitment process will be carried out entirely online. Applicants must have internet access from a safe location. If shortlisted for interview, we will use video conferencing for the interview process. We would expect that the successful candidate will be working from home initially. Once COVID restrictions are sufficiently eased however, the main work base will be in Haddington with travel across East Lothian.
