Role

The Pleasance Lifehouse is a homeless accommodation situated in Edinburgh’s city centre. It is a progressive, forward thinking project that offers a wide range of support to its service users. The centre is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic Assistant Support Worker who values a Harm Education approach to substance misuse. We would encourage applications from those whose lived experience brings the advantage of a peer to peer relationship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery of support to homeless clients with complex needs.
  • Work with clients as part of person-centred support planning which includes aiding access to a range of meaningful activities.
  • Work with clients as part of the Support Team assisting to ensure the needs and actions within person centred plans are addressed in a professional manner.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Motivation towards supporting homeless individuals to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes.
  • Good customer service and time management skills with ability to prioritise workload.
  • The ability to form positive, supportive and motivating relationships.
  • Able to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army.
