Fife Carers Centre, based in Kirkcaldy, is a well regarded and well established organisation who have been supporting family and unpaid carers throughout Fife for over 24 years. We work with adult carers on a one to one basis and in groups. We support carers in their caring role with relevant and straightforward information as well as practical help. We spend time with carers listening and using the Adult Carer Support Plan and Emergency Planning tools to help carers to think about how their life is affected by their caring role along with what are their aspirations and concerns for the future. We give information and the means to use it to carers on a wide range of topics from applying for benefits to learning more about the condition affecting the person they care for. Most importantly we will work with the carer to protect their own physical, emotional, mental and financial health whilst they maintain their caring role.
As a Carer Support Worker you will be working one to one with carers in the community, you'll see a diverse mix of caring situations and you will be ready to help with compassion, understanding, efficiency, knowledge and imagination as well as humour and a lightness of touch.
We now have an opportunity to expand our team to meet the ever growing need to support unpaid carers in new and diverse ways. We have 4 vacancies for carer support worker roles and invite applications.
Carer Support Workers will be supporting carers by phone, using online platforms and in person when restrictions allow. You will work in the community, from your own home and use Fife Carers Centre in Kirkcaldy as an admin base.
