Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of an innovative outreach, intensive support service, which will be run jointly with South Lanarkshire Council. This will initially be until 31 May 2022, although it is hoped that this will be extended by South Lanarkshire Council at the end of this period.

The position will be an intensive support role based within the South Lanarkshire area and supporting service users referred by South Lanarkshire Council who may be in other temporary accommodation or in their own tenancy where this intense support may prevent them from losing this accommodation.

The service users will come from the harder to engage group and be case managed by South Lanarkshire Council whilst intensely supported by BTHA.

You should be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced support worker with the skills to hit the ground running and manage a small case load of 6 people at any one time. This is a great opportunity to further develop your skills and experience.

This post will be 35 hours per week and although it may mainly be working within office hours you must have the flexibility to work in the evenings if and when required and on occasional weekend’s dependant on service user’s needs.

You will have an SVQ3 qualification in social care. Other essentials include: experience of working with vulnerable people, addiction issues and challenging behaviour; effective written and verbal communication; knowledge of homelessness issues; and, above all, the determination to make a difference in the lives of our service users.

If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning.
