Main purpose of role

To focus on the development of both the Employee Assistance Program and Wellbeing in the Workplace.

Background

Over the past year the Bridge has been developing the foundations for social enterprise activity and thanks to some recent funding from Adapt and Thrive we are in a position to take forward our enterprise business plan. The enterprise work will be part of the Bridge Community Project SCIO, but will have its own branding and website.

The Wellbeing Outreach Development Worker will focus on 2 areas;

Employee Assistance Program

Wellbeing in the workplace

We recently commissioned Community Enterprise to undertake some scoping work around these areas resulting in a business plan that will be used as the basis for the enterprise development.

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of roles as outlined below:

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

● Scope out and implement the terms of reference for our employee assistance program

● Work alongside the Counselling Development Worker to build an experienced team of counsellors

● Develop relationships with organisations and generate interest in our Employee Assistance Program

● Establish appropriate administration systems

Wellbeing in the Workplace

● Develop options that will support employees and organisations to improve everyday wellbeing. This will include health fairs, workshops, seminars and personal projects

● Plan out and develop appropriate content for each option above

● Bring together a delivery action plan

● Generate interest from organisations for our Wellbeing in the workplace program

Marketing

● Work with the Project Director to develop a marketing strategy, including ongoing development of the website

Administration

● Implement relevant admin/ booking systems

Sustainability

● Work alongside the Project Director to determine options for future sustainability of the enterprise

General

● Work within the ethos and culture of the Bridge Community Project

● Carry out the recommendations held within the enterprise business plan

● Work within the boundaries of confidentiality as stipulated within the Bridge Community Project policy.

● Required to observe all Health & Safety regulations and report all safety/hazards to Bridge Community Projects management group

● To attend regular meetings appropriate to the role

Job Specification

Essential

● Have experience in development work and ideally in setting up Employee assistance programs and/or training

● Must have a current, clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle

● Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Desirable

● Competent IT skills

● Ability to be self-motivated and to work to a high standard

● Ability to demonstrate a sincere commitment to the vision and values of the Bridge Community Project

To support collective advocacy for citizens with learning disabilities who are living as patients within three hospital settings. Meeting with and supporting those citizens to meet together, (all activity will be in accordance with appropriate government restrictions regarding COVID19).

Encouraging and supporting discussion of issues from their own lives and the lives of other people who have learning disabilities. The worker will facilitate members’ support of each other and work with groups and individual members to consider and develop suggestions, solutions and demands. The worker will support member representatives to bring ideas and issues to the attention of those who control services as well as those who develop policy and law. All activity tackles the inequalities and discrimination that members face and is designed to bring about improvements in the life experience of people with learning disabilities in Scotland.

Position one: 37.5 hours per week, permanent. Hours to be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Position two: 25 hours per week, fixed term until 1 February 2022, Hours to be worked flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

The Older Persons Service promotes social inclusion opportunities for isolated and lonely vulnerable older people by providing 1:1 support in people’s own homes. The regular contact that this service will bring will make a real difference to an older person’s life. Older people will ideally benefit emotionally through shared interests and experiences with their matched staff member and also through practical assistance, such as help with transport to Health Services including GP, dentist and hospital appointments, collection of prescription, support to attend appointments, shopping trips and social outings.

The Job

The purpose of the Assistant Project Workers role is to work closely with the project workers and volunteers to support the people who receive our services to become engaged and included within their communities. The Assistant Project Workers will develop relationships with relevant agencies and other services to maximise opportunities for the people we support.

Assistant Project Workers are responsible for providing one to one support to the older people, dealing with any issues they may have by providing advice or signposting, seeking advice where necessary. The post holder will assist the Team Leader and Project Workers to deliver community initiatives including social cafes and groups for older people. In addition, the Assistant Project Workers will develop good relationships with other agencies in the communities in which they work to promote the services and to identify opportunities for service users.

About You

In order to be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting older people and be able to build equal and positive relationships with people.

Due to the requirement of the Assistant Project Workers to update records it is essential that you have good personal computer skills and the ability to use technology efficiently to maintain and update these records.

You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of local community initiatives and projects and have an ability to work openly and honestly within a team setting.

Children 1st Fundraising is going through a period of growth as part of our three-year fundraising strategy. To support in the delivery of our strategic aims we are looking to develop and test new products that will continue to engage and inspire different audiences.

The Product Development Manager will lead on the development and operational implementation of new products, and the evaluation of existing fundraising activities to ensure their continued effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker with a strong grounding in delivering effective fundraising, an analytical approach with an eye for detail and the ability to manage complex operational challenges. Experience of working with product development, project management and continuous improvement methodologies would be desirable.

This is permanent, full time post of 35 hours per week. The successful candidate can be home based with access to bases in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
