The Diabetes UK Involvement and Healthcare Engagement team forms a vital part of our commitment to transform diabetes care and advocating for people affected or at risk of diabetes.
The Healthcare Engagement Officer will play a key part in supporting the team and Diabetes UK to achieve this goal by effectively engaging with, being informed by, and influencing the many thousands of professionals who deliver care to people with diabetes. We work with extraordinary people in the NHS and supporting them has never been more important.
The Healthcare Engagement Officer leads on the creation of a strong training offer for NHS staff and build strong relationships and communication channels with varied professional groups.
You gather insight from HCPs to guarantee the opinions of HCPs inform all aspects of our work, ensuring we are addressing and tackling inequality through the creation of unbiased communications and resources.
The Healthcare Engagement Officer supports our clinical skills education strategy for HCPs, including the delivery of an online education platform to enable more people to get the quality of care they need to manage their diabetes well.
You will help to manage Diabetes UK’s presence at high profile national HCP conferences and events, including virtual conferencing, liaising internally and externally to book high profile speaking slots. In normal times this will mean a willingness to travel within the UK, sometimes working outside of normal office hours.
The Ideal Candidate
A key part of this role is providing clear and concise communications to a wide range of different professional groups. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills and the ability to building strong relationships based on trust, respect and honesty. You have experience of contributing to complex cross-organisational projects on time and within budget.
As Healthcare Engagement Officer you will be a great motivator who is able to build community amongst the key stakeholders. You will thrive in working under pressure and managing a number of projects and workloads. You will be confident in putting forward alternative approaches as well as being open to new suggestions and ideas from others.
