A transitional education extra needs support programme for young people with learning difficulties, autism and complex communication needs

Teens+ provides post school education and lifelong learning services for young people with complex communication needs including autism and learning disabilities. Based in two centres in Edinburgh (Liberton Brae and Ravenscroft), the service is person centred and individualised to ensure each student, regardless of needs, can reach their fullest potential.

Liberton Brae is our transition centre and Ravenscroft is our lifelong learning centre (where in some instances some personal care may be required).

We are currently expanding our service and are looking for a number of Project Workers to join our team. As a Project Worker you will support the Team Leaders in the delivery of a transitional education programme, using a range of methods, to enable students to achieve their education goals and develop their life skills.

To succeed in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of working with people with additional support needs
  • Being able to inspire the people you work with, make a difference in their life and enhance their skills to enable them to reach their fullest potential
  • Being able to work in a person centred way to increase access to opportunities, improve social sharing, integration with peers and increased confidence and a sense of belonging and responsibility.
  • Strong communications skills
