About the Role
Are you interested in joining an award-winning Scottish charity whose aim is to provide support to people whose lives
are affected by mental ill-health? Support in Mind Scotland Training Services are looking for their next
National Training Manager.
This is an exciting role for the organisation to expand our reach into wider networks, to raise awareness of mental
health and encourage help-seeking behaviour to keep people well and prevent distress and crises.
The Training Manager will develop, lead and deliver bespoke mental health training and awareness sessions to a wide
and diverse range of customers, clients and stakeholders across Scotland, including employers, colleges, public
sector bodies or small groups and organisations who want to improve how they interact with their employees,
customers or clients.
As well as delivering high quality training and learning opportunities, an important outcome of the training is to
generate unrestricted income for the charity.
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, you will have a sound understanding of mental health issues, including serious mental
illness and some knowledge of mental health policy and practice across the country. You will have a training
background, and able to demonstrate hands-on experience of delivering training to a high standard.
You will be able to engage with people who may be distressed or anxious and help them to talk about sensitive
issues.
Working as part of the Support in Mind Scotland team, you will also have autonomy to develop this role. You will
write reports and in time, develop and line manage a small team of sessional part time facilitators.
This role includes generating income and you will ideally have some experience of costing and marketing training
materials and courses.
We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and the charity and are a
“Happy to Talk Flexible” employer. Although our National Office is in Edinburgh, we can be flexible with where
the person is located to ensure we find the ideal person.
The post is full time, working 35 hours per week with occasional evening work. We are happy to talk about adjusting
these hours for the suitable candidate.
If you are passionate about enabling Support in Mind Scotland to deliver a valuable service to the Scottish community
and feel your profile matches this role’s criteria, then we want to hear from you!
