Neighbourhood Networks is a registered Scottish Charity with 20 year’s experience of facilitating peer support networks with vulnerable adults across the Central Belt of Scotland.

Neighbourhood Networks encourages people to think about how they might come together to help each other. We work with people who may be isolated or at risk of isolation within their communities. This may be as a result of a learning disability, poor mental health, a physical disability, sensory impairment or as a result of a variety of other circumstances.

We currently have a vacancy for a Network Manager. The role involves the day to day management of up to 3 networks ensuring Community Living Workers provide a high standard of service to network members.

We are looking for a flexible, energetic and resilient person who is committed to the vision, mission and values of the organisation. The post holder will display a can do attitude and be passionate about supporting members of the network to achieve outcomes and their full potential with a focus on peer support and developing connections in the local communities where the network is based.

To support collective advocacy for citizens with learning disabilities who are living as patients within three hospital settings. Meeting with and supporting those citizens to meet together, (all activity will be in accordance with appropriate government restrictions regarding COVID19).

Encouraging and supporting discussion of issues from their own lives and the lives of other people who have learning disabilities. The worker will facilitate members’ support of each other and work with groups and individual members to consider and develop suggestions, solutions and demands. The worker will support member representatives to bring ideas and issues to the attention of those who control services as well as those who develop policy and law. All activity tackles the inequalities and discrimination that members face and is designed to bring about improvements in the life experience of people with learning disabilities in Scotland.

We are looking for a full time Activity Co-ordinator to work within the Lanarkshire area.

The purpose of the post will be to engage with families and support them to access our services such as play therapy, peer support, sport and social activities. By having a dedicated worker in the area, it will help to remove any barriers which families feel might prevent them from accessing additional support as well as raising additional awareness of the services that REACH provide in the local area.

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Children, Young People and Families team! This full-time post is partly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Visibility Scotland are seeking to recruit a Qualified Habilitation Specialist or someone who is currently undergoing the Habilitation course to provide a person centred Habilitation service that meets the specific needs of children and young people who live with a visual impairment. The post holder will be expected to build upon existing relationships and forge new partnerships with professionals and other organisations to ensure Visibility Scotland is positively represented at a local and national level.

The post holder will provide multi–disciplinary support to ensure connectivity and access to all services for each service user. The Habilitation programme will provide an innovative tool-kit of strategies that will aim to provide each child or young person with the knowledge and skills to develop their confidence, independence and long term resilience. The key areas that support and training cover are mobility, travel, independent living skills and technology.

Candidates will be expected to have a sound knowledge of visual impairment and how visual impairment and additional disabilities can impact children, young people and their families.

This post will include some evening and weekend working as well as travel across Central Scotland. The successful candidate must be flexible, highly motivated and be able to work as part of a team but also work independently when required.

Please note that the post comes with a £5,000 relocation lump sum and either access to a pool car or a car allowance.
