Role
EDICT is looking for a sessional Arts Worker to support the delivery of their Autism Spectrum sessions at the studio space in Bishopbriggs.
As a key support service EDICT is delivering in person sessions at the studio in Bishopbriggs. As such we would expect any staff to uptake the Covid vaccine, to ensure the safety of all staff and participants.
The role of ASD Arts Worker is to provide practical and creative support to the children and young people taking part in EDICT’s autism hub support sessions.
The successful candidates will be experienced in working with children and young people, community art work and have working knowledge of supporting those on the autism spectrum.
Qualifications & experience
Appropriate Art related qualification, knowledge of Autism and experience of group work in a community art setting.
Main duties
- Working with EDICT staff the arts worker will design and implement an art programme for children & young adults affected by an autistic spectrum disorder.
- Developing projects that fulfil the needs of the participants.
- Assist in completion of any reports on group outcomes.
- Preparation of studio space for group
- Tidy studio after group
The sessional arts worker will be line managed by an EDICT full time staff member.
The arts worker will be subject to a PVG check as they will be working with a vulnerable group.
Reports to:Project Manager
Hours:Sessional work. Session take place over four evenings Monday-Thursday. We are hoping to extend the provision and hours may be increased. In the first instance the weekly hours required will be ten - session delivery and preparation/clean up.

Community Worker (Maternity Cover for 12 months).

Headway Highland (SC023551) is a small independent charity that supports adults with an acquired brain injury, their families and carers. We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time, home based community worker covering Inverness and the surrounding area. This will be for a 12-month contract providing maternity cover.
The post holder will be required to work 16 hours per week at a salary of £19,554 pro-rata. This post may include some evening work, so flexibility is essential. A car driver is also essential as there will be travel involved (car mileage costs will be paid at 45p per mile)
The post holder will be required to facilitate support groups based on social activities, supervise/support volunteers, organise fundraising events and generate awareness of the charity. The postholder will be expected to plan and organise telephone and Zoom support to our members as well as outdoor walking groups. Good digital and social media skills would be beneficial. The applicant will have experience of working with vulnerable adults.

BHT activities currently comprise of adult and child cooking sessions, community meals, health and wellbeing workshops, wellbeing at home project, community growing space, craft group, BuggyGym, seated yoga, chair exercise, and a walking group. These activities focus on connecting people within our communities, reducing social isolation and contributing to greater health and wellbeing.
We welcome a non-judgemental, inclusive and supportive person who thinks creatively and develops imaginative solutions to problems; with proven experience of working in a community-based organisation and/or the voluntary sector.
The Rehabilitation Worker will facilitate positive lifestyle changes for clients by developing and implementing individual Action Plans to enable clients to live predominantly without misusing substances.
Candidates should:
- be qualified to Degree/Diploma level or equivalent in Social Work, Nursing, Community Learning and Development or hold an SVQ4 Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 9
- have experience of working with individuals with problems relating to their drug and/or alcohol use;
- be computer literate.
The service operates on a Fife-wide basis therefore the ability to travel across Fife is essential.
