Could you lead us?
Movement Park is seeking to appoint a new Chairperson to lead and guide the charity through an exciting and ambitious phase of growth and to continue the long-term impact through community engagement. Now in its fifth year, Movement Park is well placed to play a meaningful and lasting role within our community as society recovers from the impacts of COVID and beyond. Over the past 12-months Movement Park has built upon its well-laid foundations and learned valuable experiences to build financial sustainability; enhance our facilities; develop our 5-year strategic plan; create a strong, loyal and growing membership-base; review and diversity our programme.
The new Chairperson shall work with and lead a supportive and settled board to deliver the charity’s vision: “to enhance the wellbeing and social engagement of our community through sport and creative activities”. Since inception, and in particular throughout the past 12-months, Movement Park has experienced considerable growth in participation, reach and impact from our well-known venue-hub in the local community offering a range of activities, including Parkour, Skateboarding, Ninja School, and Basketball as well as many others.
The role of the Chairperson will to be a main contact alongside the CEO following the new strategic direction and governance of the charity, with a Vice Chair & Secretary playing a crucial role, keeping our records in check and communicating with the Board and our members. The Chairperson will scrutinise, review and monitor the management reports and constructively challenge the management where necessary. The Chairperson shall be committed to and live the values of a community-focused organisation. The Chairperson shall represent Movement Park and be the public face of charity to external supporters, funders and events.
This is a voluntary role, however any reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of the carrying role, as board member, will be reimbursed.
