Aberdeen based charity, Citymoves Dance Agency SCIO has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual with strong business skills, leadership qualities, and a desire to work in the dynamic world of the arts to take up the challenging role of Chief Executive of the regional dance agency for North East Scotland.
Citymoves Purpose: Leading Positive Impacts Through Dance in the North East of Scotland
Citymoves Aims:
- To increase and encourage participation in dance for all ages and abilities, building a dance community
- To support and nurture dance talent, growing a network of dance artists
- To grow audiences for dance, and develop a curiosity for the art form
- To be a dynamic organisation, developing dance related projects that identify and respond to local needs and national priorities
- To lead collaborative practice and forge strong relationships and partnerships locally, nationally and internationally
- To promote the physical, mental and social benefits of dance for overall wellbeing, ensuring access and inclusion for all
Scope of the Role of Chief Executive Officer:
- Reports to the Board of Citymoves SCIO and leads the Citymoves Team
- Provides reports and assurance to the Board and key funders
- Overall accountability for delivery of the business strategy and plan
- Identifies and drives business growth opportunities and partnerships
- Accountable for annual operational budget of circa £350k

musicALL has been delivering high quality music opportunities for disabled young people since 2013 and is focused on the creation of a society that ensures everyone has access to opportunities that enable them to enjoy their rights and fulfil their potential.
Due to the impending retiral of its founder, musicALL’s Board of Trustees are looking to recruit into the critical role of Director, who will:
- Continue the delivery of musicALL’s high quality offer.
- Develop, in conjunction with the Board, and oversee the delivery of a new strategic plan.
- Ensure the ongoing financial sustainability of musicALL, identifying and securing new funding streams.

- Develop and maintain positive strategic partnerships with local authorities, schools, care homes, funders and other third sector organisations to ensure all have access to music opportunities that enable them to enjoy their rights and fulfil their potential.
With an awareness and experience of the positive impact music can have on people’s lives, you will bring relevant strategic and operational management experience, experience of effectively managing resources and budgets, and strong stakeholder management experience. With compassion, patience and empathy, and a willingness and ability to operate at all levels within the organisation, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to musicALL’s vision to contribute to the creation of a society that ensures everyone has access to opportunities that enable them to enjoy their rights and fulfil their potential.
- Direct experience securing funding from various sources, including securing commissioned contracts and trust and foundation applications, and, ideally, experience of leading an organisation operating within tight financial constraints.
- A proven track record in building and maintaining a wide range of collaborative relationships and partnerships.
- A strong understanding of, and commitment to, the key principles of safeguarding at an organisational and practice level.
- Demonstrable awareness of the opportunities that emerging digital technology offers in transforming frontline service delivery and engagement with children and young people.

Social Work Scotland is the professional body for social work managers and leaders. We are a membership organisation with over 350 individual and corporate members. We exist to promote and support the development of the social work profession, and to inform, influence and improve public policy and public services.
We are excited to be recruiting for a new Head of Policy and Workforce. The next few years are likely to be seminal in the ongoing development of social work in Scotland, with significant change driven by the adult social care reform agenda and the Promise (children’s services), among others.
With the Director, this post constitutes the senior management of the organisation, linking in directly with Social Work Scotland’s Board, local authority Chief Social Work Officers and key partners (such as the Office of the Chief Social Work Advisor) to set and participate in the national agenda. The Head of Policy and Workforce has a broad remit, providing operational social work insight and expertise across all issues, but primarily workforce planning, leadership, learning and development, management and wellbeing. The role has responsibility for overseeing one or more national projects currently hosted by Social Work Scotland, and line managing other members of
the team.
If successful in securing the post, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with the leadership of the social work profession in Scotland, in operations, regulation, advocacy, policy making, education and academia. Through these relationships you will have a key role in steering the profession through its continuous process of change and development, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. You will be a visible representative of the profession at the national level, and you will help others to articulate Social Work Scotland’s positions.
