Shakti provides information, emotional/practical support and refuge/temporary accommodation to all Black Minority Ethnic women and their children who are experiencing or fleeing domestic abuse.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Shakti Women’s Aid as their Finance Worker. Reporting to the CEO, this important role is central to the effectiveness of the organisation; the role holder will ensure day to day finance and accounts activities are carried out effectively and efficiently, whilst providing support across the charity.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and qualified finance professional with demonstrable experience of general accounting and reconciliation work to audit level. You will possess sound knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Excel, with excellent general IT, planning, organisational and communication skills. A relevant qualification, preferably to HND or AAT standard is also required. Whilst not essential, understanding of domestic abuse within black minority ethnic communities would be highly desirable but more important is knowledge of working in a small charitable environment where teamwork is key to our success.
Our office is based in Edinburgh. We anticipate ongoing flexibility with working arrangements, including remote working. However, we anticipate that the person in post will need to travel to our Edinburgh office about once a month.
