Space and The Broomhouse Hub is a community anchor organisation supporting local people and their families in South West Edinburgh, with some of our services stretching city wide. Our mission is:
‘To nurture, support & inspire, so that lives are fuller, potential is fulfilled & community connections flourish.’
Our new Hub replaced the much loved Broomhouse Centre in 2019, and has been designed with our community at its heart, hosting a wide range of activities every day.
The Hub is home to over 50 staff who work across our services supporting groups including children, young people, families, older people, people with dementia and carers. Our services include one to one support and group activities as well as a popular community café.
As part of our developing services we are recruiting a Service Coordinator to work in our Beacon Club, supporting older people affected by cognitive impairment and mild dementia.
The Beacon Club is an enriching and stimulating day care service with dedicated staff and volunteers. We believe that people with dementia are entitled to respect and dignity and we are passionate about improving the quality of life for our members and their carers, in our local communities.
