If so, then we need you to join our award winning team at Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS)!

This temporary maternity-cover position in the Fundraising Campaigns Manager role is pivotal in the development and ongoing management of innovative and transformative fundraising marketing campaigns. We need a dynamic and focused individual with marketing and fundraising experience who can motivate, drive ambitious targets, lead a small team and secure engagement from across the entire organisation.

You will have experience in direct marketing including digital media, social media and be an excellent communicator. You’ll have a proven track record in leading in the delivery of multi-channel campaigns and be able to demonstrate your direct impact on the success of these campaigns. Most importantly, you’ll be creative, willing to learn, curious, and the phrase “that’s the way we’ve always done it” doesn’t feature in your vocabulary.

Working primarily with the Head of Supporter Engagement but supporting the entire fundraising and communications directorate, the focus on this post will be to lead fundraising campaign strategies that maximise the lifetime value of our supporters.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all aspects of fully integrated, multi-channel campaigns with optimum return on investment, deploying tactics from across the entire marketing mix. Maintain excellent communication with all stakeholders and parties contributing to the campaign.
  • Be the lead contact with key agencies retained to support the delivery of campaigns, managing profitable, high performing supplier relationships.
  • Work with and support the Head of Supporter Engagement to lead in the creation and delivery of innovative donor acquisition and donor retention programmes, to grow individual giving income.
  • Work closely with fundraising and Communications colleagues, the Supporter Care Manager and CRM Database Marketing Manager to devise and coordinate communication plans around all campaigns, taking a story-telling approach to powerfully communicate CHAS’ work, and the direct impact donors can have with their support.
  • Demonstrate care, kindness and empathy in your approach to storytelling, working closely with CHAS families to tell the real stories of their experience of caring for, or having cared for, a dying child.
  • Lead a programme of campaign evaluation ensuring results for all fundraising campaigns are analysed, produce evaluation reports and make recommendations on improvements. Report regularly to stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, including to the board of trustees where required.
  • Take a data-driven decision making approach to all campaigns and in the continued development and understanding of CHAS key supporter audiences.
  • Work closely with colleagues in our comms team to refine and develop CHAS key messages internally and externally.

This role will be a fast-paced, exciting role for someone who enjoys a challenge. No two days are the same and the joy of launching a campaign which engages and inspires people to donate (often for the first time) to help dying children and their families is immeasurable. We are looking for the ideal candidate to have strong experience in leading integrated marketing campaigns, with strong digital marketing experience and outstanding copywriting skills, so they can hit the ground running:

  • Excellent level of communication and presentation skills, being able to tell the story of CHAS in an engaging and inspiring way
  • Creativity and a sense of fun in their approach to their work
  • Ability to use initiative and ‘think outside the box’ to help develop and deliver new income and donor development opportunities
  • Meticulous approach to planning and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders in a way which encourages them to participate in CHAS campaigns and communications
  • A willingness to learn and to embrace innovative channels and ways of working
  • Knowledge and understanding of the marketing mix and demonstrable experience of working on income generation campaigns
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Data Studio Dashboard and / or other data visualisation tools as well as experience with email automation
  • Experience working in the charity sector is not essential. We are looking for someone who has the passion, drive and skills to take CHAS’ campaigns to the next level.
