We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the right values to join our service assisting and supporting vulnerable care leavers to achieve better lives.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team to provide meaningful support to service users and to ensure the security of the project. You will manage a small case load, providing person centred support that covers practical, emotional and personal issues. You will use all of your knowledge and experience to help service users build their life skills and prepare for independent living.
An SVQ3 qualification in social care would be advantageous however not necessary. Other essentials include: experience of working with vulnerable people, addiction issues; challenging behaviour; effective written and verbal communication; resilience and perseverance in the face of resistance and sometimes aggressive behaviour; knowledge of homelessness; knowledge of issues experienced by young people who have had to be removed from their primary care giver; and, above all, the determination to make a difference in the lives of our service users.
The service works within a model of delivery built around Psychologically Informed Environments.
Typical shifts are 20 hours over two consecutive nights per week between 22:00 – 08:00.
If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date.
After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning.
