We are looking for four enthusiastic individuals with the right values to join our Charles Brownlie service in Hamilton and Blantyre to assist and support vulnerable homeless people to achieve better lives.
The projects are part of a 3 site service.
The Hamilton site consist of 12 Beds (12x 1 Bed Self-Contained). Half of the accommodation is supported accommodation and half is first stop emergency accommodation taking referrals 24 hrs per day.
The Blantyre site consists of 11 flats (5 x 1 bed self-contained flats and 6 x self-contained bedsits).
The service provides support for people from 16+ and adults experiencing homelessness, including care experiences young people.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide a meaningful support service to identified individuals who live in the project and/or in the community. You will provide a quality service tailored to the assessed needs of each individual by identifying, planning and facilitating support to enable appropriate move-on options for each service user. You will use all of your knowledge and experience to help service users build their life skills and prepare for independent living.
Shift pattern follows an 8 week rolling rota consisting of one week at 1 x 10hr shift and 3 weeks at 2 x 10hr from 22:00 to 08:00. The posts are each lone working, with phone support available from night shift colleagues at your sister projects and on call manager system.
An SVQ3 qualification in social care would be advantageous however not necessary. Other essentials include: experience of working with vulnerable people, addiction issues and challenging behaviour; effective written and verbal communication and sound computer literacy, knowledge of homelessness issues; and, above all, the determination to make a difference in the lives of our service users.
If successful, you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of your start date. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified and to maintain professional learning.
