Role

Alzheimer Scotland, Policy Team - Scottish Dementia Working Group & National Dementia Carers Action Network.

The collective voice of people with lived experience, as a person with dementia or as a carer, is at the heart of what Alzheimer Scotland do. We have two national active voice groups; The Scottish Dementia Working Group (SDWG) for people living with dementia and the National Dementia Carers Action Network (NDCAN) for people who are carers or former carers of people with dementia. Both groups campaign to protect the rights of people with dementia and carers; influence policy and practice at all levels; support research and raise awareness to challenge stigma and change the image of dementia.

We are looking for an outstanding individual to provide strategic leadership, to facilitate and support an effective campaigning voice of people with dementia and carers.

You will have a recognised professional qualification in community development or community education, social care or health care or other related occupations. You will also have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and capable of working effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

*Our work location will be a blend between a home base and attendance at the office. There will be a requirement to attend office premises in local offices/regions for access to shared office space and facilities, as well as a requirement for attendance at other office locations from time to time for specific purposes, as directed.
