The Project Worker will provide first line management to volunteers using established supervision and performance management systems and contribute to the effective delivery of our citywide Befriending service ensuring that they meet key service objectives and the expressed needs of service users and carers
They will contribute to the personal development of self and the team of Volunteers in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator/Project Leader. Project Workers will implement agreed systems, procedures and practice for assessments, plans and reviews in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator/Project Leader.
A qualification at SVQ3 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards achieving this qualification is essential due to the requirements to register with the SSSC for this post. Experience of working in a Health and Social Care environment is desirable due to the requirements to register with the SSSC for this post.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the values and attitude required to work with people who are living with mental health problems and who may have complex needs.
Applicants for all posts must be able to work flexibly; some early morning, evening and weekend working may be required.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of work with Glasgow Association for Mental Health will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.
