Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn (UOG) purchased Galson Estate, comprising 616 crofts in 22 crofting townships, in the north of the Isle of Lewis in January 2007. Reporting to UOG’s Board of Directors, the General Manager will provide effective and dynamic leadership and management for the overall organisation, enabling it to support the community to fulfil its vision of “a thriving and well-connected community with excellent local services and amenities, harnessing its natural assets to create a unique cultural and social environment.” The postholder will work with the board and staff team to maintain a sustainable business and funding model. Overseeing the management team, the postholder will have accountability for driving the strategy of the organisation. The postholder will also hold the role of Company Secretary.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
*The post will be mostly based in the UOG Business Centre, South Galson, Isle of Lewis. The post will be home based until the new office building opens in the Autumn. Flexible working arrangements are in place.
