This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding Scotland. With 45,000 young members we are the largest charity for girls and young women in Scotland. Girlguiding Scotland has been around for over 100 years and we have much to be proud of in that rich and vibrant history, but we know that to remain exciting and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.
The Girl Voice Project Coordinator will lead on our work to strengthen Girlguiding Scotland’s profile as an expert in girls’ lives and an inclusive and impactful youth organisation. You’ll be the key staff contact for Speak Out, our youth forum, and our MSYPs (Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament), supporting them to shape our advocacy work and act as spokespeople for the organisation. You’ll also support delivery of our membership engagement strategy to ensure that the voices of girls and young women are at the heart of everything we do.
This is a great opportunity to help prepare young women to share their views and experiences to decision makers, influencers, and in the media to advocate for change.
You’ll be a self-starter and have excellent communication, listening and organisational skills, and an ability to prioritise when working under pressure.
While Girlguiding’s young members may be women only, our staff team is mixed gender. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to inclusivity.
