Role

Equal Say has been providing advocacy for people with disabilities/long term conditions since 1995. We want to recruit two new workers for our project in North Lanarkshire working with adults with addictions. Placing on the scale is dependent on previous experience.

We are shortly launching a new service for people affected by addictions and we want to recruit people with insight to the issues people with an addiction may face. We welcome applications from people with lived experience; this may be a person in recovery or a person with significant family experience of addiction. Funding is initially for 12 months but we expect this to be continued and extended.

Don’t be put off if you feel you don’t have experience of every single competency we ask for, we will be flexible and supportive to the right candidates.

If you have knowledge or experience of any of the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Providing advocacy or representation to marginalised people
  • Experience of working with people with addictions
  • Experience of casework in a community setting
  • Autonomous working within a small team
  • A passion for inclusion and natural justice

We offer 37 days holiday, 6% matched pension, travel allowance, company phone/laptop and flexible working.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme and suitable references. As the post covers the whole local authority area, a driver with access to a car is essential for this role.
