Parenting Worker

Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust have been supporting care experienced children and young people since 1733.

We are seeking to recruit a compassionate professional to support care experienced parents and their young children. The purpose of the post is to support parents to develop positive relationships with their children, whilst keeping them safe in a loving nurturing environment. A relevant professional qualification is essential. A sound knowledge of safeguarding and child development is essential, as is experience of working with partners. Experience of parenting work would be advantageous. Excellent report writing and communication skills are essential.

This post is externally funded. A significant training programme will be offered to the successful candidate.

Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to become a PVG Scheme member or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

Based at 68 St John’s Road, Edinburgh (currently blended office / home based) and will include significant lone working in the community.

35 hours per week, including some evening and occasional weekend work. Salary £28,225. Part-time hours and/or job share, or secondments would be considered.
