Poverty and inequality are the greatest challenges Scotland faces. The Poverty Alliance is building our network across civil society to challenge, and ultimately solve, poverty. An opportunity has arisen to join our management team that will play a key role in helping us achieve our vision of a Scotland without poverty.

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced individual to lead the Poverty Alliance’s Communities and Networks Team. The role will be central to overseeing the continued growth and development of the Poverty Alliance’s network, ensuring that we actively involve Scotland’s diverse civil society in the fight against poverty. In addition, the role will lead our approach to involving people with experience of poverty in our network, ensuring that opportunities for participation are expanded across all our activity.

The right person for this job will have, above all, a commitment to tackling poverty and promoting social change and to the principles and values of participation. You will have extensive experience and knowledge of community development, empowerment or regeneration activity, gained at the local or national levels. Through that experience you will have gained a strong understanding of civil society in Scotland, and of how to build and maintain networks. You will also be someone who takes a collaborative approach to work, who has excellent project planning, development and management experience.
