SAMH has represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for more than 90 years.

Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Support Worker 1

Service: Easterhill SA Service, Tollcross, Glasgow

Brisbane Service, Mount Vernon, Glasgow

Hours: 37.5 per week

Shifts: Sleepovers. early and late shifts

Salary: £18,525.00 (Salary Point 10)

Service: Brisbane Service, Mount Vernon, Glasgow

Hours: 37.5 per week

Shifts: Sleepovers. early and late shifts

Salary: £18,525.00 to £19,987.00 (Salary Point 13 - 19)

Contract: Permanent

SAMH is currently looking to recruit Support Workers for the Easterhill Services based in the Tollcross area of Glasgow and Brisbane Service in the Mount Vernon area of Glasgow to provide a variety of practical and emotional support to people who use our services. You will be working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems and complex needs within a Care Home service and in the local community.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives and support them to achieve their identified outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is desirable.

As the posts will involve a variety of shift patterns including evenings, weekends, sleepovers and on-calls, you will be flexible in the hours and shifts you are available to work. Although initially based in the Easterhill Service, you must also be available to work in services across Glasgow if the need arises. Within the posts on offer there are opportunities for a variety of training, personal and career development.
