Role
Our Smart Services Officer will be responsible for engaging with partners (including Local Authorities) to support the development and delivery of bespoke packages of entitlements and opportunities for young people to tackle inequalities and support attainment.
With a focus on health and wellbeing and the #YSAttain programme, this post will collaborate with key stakeholders, using the Young Scot National Entitlement Card to harness smart-tech functionality where possible to tackle inequalities in a non-stigmatising way.

We are recruiting for a Locality Manager to lead our service provision across the city of Edinburgh and the East.
In Edinburgh this is directly managing Our Visiting Home Service in the Northwest and Southwest of the city as well as overseeing the management of three supported accommodation programmes in the Broomhouse and Pilton areas. The Locality Manager will directly line manager a Service Manager in the city.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Directly manage delivery of the Edinburgh and East service and be service located in the city(potentially from Leith in the first instance)
- Lead service delivery in line with Right There’s aims, values and strategic objectives
- Lead your portfolio with emphasis on best practice, qualitative based outcomes and robust operational controls
- Ensure robust person-centred planning is at the heart of delivery with maintained and accurate support plans recording SMART outcomes.
- Responsibility for service development and excellence leading on the collation and implementation of annual review and improvement programme.
- Take ownership for growth of services under responsibility
- Investigate new opportunities allied to and/or supporting existing service provision
- Support leadership and senior management colleagues develop new service proposals and tenders of new and existing activity.
- Lead the Edinburgh and East delivery teams with a clear focus on delivery performance and outcome attainment
- Lead the teams to deliver great “customer” service and a People First Approach
- Work in partnership with Right There colleagues; promote clear and singular communication
- Embrace a positive working culture working collaboratively, promoting inclusiveness, cooperation, trust and open exchange of ideas to fulfil Right There’s strategic aims supporting line managers and delivery staff to do likewise.
- Accountable for service specific data collection, analysis and regular agreed reporting
- Deliver on service performance, using KPI data to support decision making and planning for current programmes.
- Responsible for upholding the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice and Health and Social Care Standards within your programme.
- Lead the Edinburgh and East services in partnership with key commissioners involved in service review and reporting.
- Take the lead in service delivery matters as they apply to the Care Inspectorate, building positive working relations with respective Inspectorate staff.
- Responsible for compiling and managing the approved annual budgets
- Ensure services operate within financial parameters and targets
What we expect from you

We need you to be qualified to SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (previously Health and Social Care), SCQF Level 7 or HNC in Social Services. We also need you to be qualified in, or willing to work towards SVQ Level 4 Social Services and Healthcare and SVQ Level 4 in Management, or SCQF equivalent.
We’re looking for someone that has experience of managing a service, with the ability to lead and take ownership and accountability for the programmes. We also need you to have knowledge and experience of working to Care Inspectorate standards as well as having experience of building, leading and managing a team.
What you can expect from us
We value our staff as our greatest asset and will provide the following working conditions:
- The post holder will report to the Head of Operations-Services.
- Your normal working hours are an average of 35 per week. These hours are usually worked Monday to Friday, and flexibly between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm, with core hours over the period from 10am to 4pm with one-hour unpaid. Variations to these hours must be agreed with your line manager.
- Your usual place of work will be 26 Leith Walk, Edinburgh, EH6 5AA
- Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays.

Bridges Project is a leading youth work charity that helps young people aged 12-25 in East Lothian and Midlothian overcome challenges and adapt to adulthood. For nearly 40 years, we have helped young people develop their life skills, improve their educational attainment and move into employment or further education.
We have a vacancy for an Educational Support Worker to deliver an effective casework and group work service to young people experiencing a range of challenges such as non-attendance at school, low attainment, poor mental health and family poverty.
The successful candidate will:
- Support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, apprenticeships, further education or vocational training
- Provide vocational/industry specific accreditation and training to groups of young people alongside individual support to address particular barriers
- Take the lead on the service and to provide an effective interface between young people, partners and stakeholders involved in the service.
This is an exciting position in which the successful candidate will take pride in developing a programme of delivery which will provide young people with clear pathways to positive destinations.

Our new Digital Information & Social Media Officer will support the Digital Information & Social Media Manager alongside the digital information team to develop digital information and social media content for our audiences. You will work directly with young people and content creators to develop user-generated content for our campaigns – and will ensure our website and social channels are at the forefront of innovation.
