An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Livingwell Advisor in Glasgow. You will provide a service to people aged over 55 who are in need of assistance in order to sustain their accommodation and remain as independent as possible within the community in conjunction with the housing officer.
As a Livingwell Advisor, you will be expected to work with people to build strong relationships based on trust and reliability; to support the person to live as independently as possible in the way they choose; to keep them safe and promote their health and wellness.

Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate(s) will have solid experience of working with people in the care and support sector and, just as importantly, will be able to demonstrate an innovative and empathetic approach to delivering services and able to work flexibly in line with the hours of the service.
Experience of working with vulnerable people and/or life experience in supporting older people or individuals who have learning disabilities, addictions, mental health Issues, children and families, tenancy support or homelessness issues.
Good written and verbal communication skills are essential to enable a consistent approach within the team.
Enthusiasm and genuine interest in working with older people is also essential.
You should also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of monitoring and evaluating a quality framework, whilst ensuring excellent service provision.
What will the role involve day-to-day?
As an advisor, you will promote the safety, general wellbeing, rights and choices of customers who live in our Livingwell complexes.
You will be responsible for liaising with appropriate agencies, both internally and externally, to ensure the support, health and care needs of individual customers are identified and addressed and their independence enhanced/maintained.
Your focus will be to ensure that the things that are important to the people we work for are achieved while adopting a risk enablement, empowering approach.
You will facilitate meaningful activities to enable good health and mental wellbeing and promote self-management of such. You will travel to and from various services throughout the week in line with rota specification
What about qualifications and development?
At Wheatley Care, we support staff to develop their career and reach their potential through a range of learning and development opportunities.
As part of a wider care organisation, you should have, or be willing to work towards, an SSSC-recognised qualification, such as SVQ2 Health or HNC Social Care or similar.
Wheatley Care will support you to achieve any relevant qualifications you will require as a Livingwell Advisor within an agreed timescale. Your commitment to gaining the necessary qualifications would be essential.
You will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, but we can also support you with this application.
