Role
We are looking for two Development Officers who are passionate, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to take up an exciting new role to help us develop and shape the work Versus Arthritis does in local communities. Working as part of a small team of staff and volunteers based in Argyll & Bute, you will take a lead role in delivering our pilot project - Together Versus Arthritis – Keeping Connected in Argyll & Bute.
Our pilot in Argyll & Bute has been awarded funding via the National Lottery Communities Fund (NLCF) and together we aim to reach more people with arthritis, create new local peer-support groups, deliver self-management information and support, gather new insight, and raise awareness around arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions and link to and develop local community networks.
The Development Officers will be responsible for working with existing partners and volunteers and looking to develop and support new local networks of people, professionals, and organisations - building strong, lasting relationships within the community, people with arthritis, current and future volunteers, community and voluntary organisations, researchers and health and social care partners. This includes working closely with other teams to identify, recruit, train, and support volunteers to support this work.
You will also work alongside colleagues working in the other UK pilot sites, supported by our services team and the central Together Versus Arthritis project team.
What we are looking for
To be successful in the role, you will be committed to Versus Arthritis values and behaviours and have relevant experience and demonstrable ability:
Experience of community development approaches including co-production and co-design and involving people with lived experience in decision making.
Develop and support a regular network forum with your Local Touchpoint volunteers offering a “Community of Practice” approach.
Knowledge of self-management and how to support people to actively manage their wellbeing through development of sustainable local opportunities for people to come together, in person and online.

About Eczema Outreach Support
Eczema Outreach Support (EOS) is a UK-wide charity supporting children and young people with eczema and their families. Originally set up in Scotland in 2011, we now have over 4,000 member families living across the UK.
At EOS, we want every child with eczema to thrive. We believe that having eczema should not – and will not - stop children's ambitions and dreams. By providing direct practical advice and emotional support to whole families, we empower young people to take back control of their health and break isolation. Our goal is for every child with eczema to know they are not alone.
We deliver a range of activities including one-to-one support via phone & email, we deliver face-to-face events and online activities, such as our virtual High Five Club for kids aged 3-10 and tailored support for teenagers. We also work directly with schools, as well as creating and sharing informative social media content on eczema. Our Business Support Officer will provide vital support across a range of areas including finance, administration and IT so EOS can deliver high quality support to families. You would be the main office contact for EOS which would include periods of lone working. Communications and Supporter Care Administrator

Prostate Scotland, Scotland’s prostate disease charity is looking for an enthusiastic Communications and Supporter Care Administrator to help us in our communications, supporter care and fundraising. Prostate Scotland is a busy active charity working across Scotland to inform, support and advance on prostate cancer and disease. You will play an important role in helping to look after our supporters and fundraisers, assisting with our communications and sending out merchandise to people supporting the charity.
This role will involve:
•Providing support to and administering local level giving and liaising with fundraisers in taking forward activities in aid of Prostate Scotland
•Supporting active fundraisers throughout their fundraising journey
•Administering donations and assisting with communications to supporters
•Helping on the development of fundraising and marketing materials and plans to promote Prostate Scotland’s work
•Ensuring that we have up-to-date information on our Customer Relationship Management System.
•Developing, sourcing, managing and dispatching stocks of branded fundraising merchandise and sending these out to our supporters
•Assisting with the co-ordination and development of communications activity with supporters and service users as part of communications and supporter care team
•Assisting with writing content for social media and website.
Your good people skills will assist us in working with local fundraisers and supporters to help develop fundraising for Prostate Scotland in communities and in events across the Scotland. You will also have the opportunity to attend and represent Prostate Scotland at local fundraising and supporter external events.
This new post will play an important role in supporting the charity’s communications and fundraising by providing support to and administering local level giving and donations and fundraising events and liaising with fundraisers in taking forward activities in aid of prostate Scotland. The role also will involve helping administer donations and assisting with communications with supporters, along with helping on the development of fundraising materials and plans to promote Prostate Scotland’s work.
Good administrative, IT and digital skills will be important. Prior knowledge of prostate cancer and disease is not required (though helpful) and training about this will be provided.
Occasional travel in Scotland will be required. Management of the post will be from the charity’s Communications and Supporter Care Manager. The post is available on a two-year contract.

This job doesn’t come up often. In fact, we’ve never advertised it before. Due to an internal move, we are looking for someone really special to be the CHAS Director of Nursing and Family Support.
In Scotland, three children a week die from a life-shortening condition. CHAS provides unwavering care for children who may die young, and their whole families. Our team includes nurses, doctors, AHPs, chaplains, social workers and a wide range of family support specialists. They work across two children’s hospices, in community settings across the country, and in hospitals alongside NHS staff.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working hand-in-glove with the Medical Director, you will deliver exceptional care for children and families. You will lead a team of 160 nurses and family support staff working across all parts of Scotland and in multiple settings.
Nursing plays a key role in our care, with nurse specialists involved in delivery, education, advanced practice and organisational leadership. You will inspire our nursing and family support teams to deliver exceptional care in hospice, home and hospital settings. You will work closely and collaboratively with NHS partners, to arrange seamless care.
You will envisage new ways of delivering care and lead teams through change as we implement our 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. You will inspire people behind our vision of delivering excellent care every day.
You will be an experienced nurse leader, confident at working in a multi-agency way. The majority of staff in our multi-disciplinary team are nurses, so you will need to have significant experience of leading nurses and healthcare professionals. You will be professionally registered but don’t need to be a children’s nurse.
We would be keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Detailed understanding of nursing and /or family support alongside significant senior nurse leadership experience
- Experienced in a strategic leadership role, working at or close to board level.
- A track record delivering a high quality of care and championing change in line with a strategic plan, supporting colleagues to think broadly about continuous improvement.
- Strong core management and leadership skills including communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, innovation, planning, mobilisation, reporting, commercial awareness, people and finance management.
We are open to hearing from people from a range of backgrounds. You may be working at or near board level in the NHS, health and social care partnership, or operating at nurse director level in a children’s or adult’s hospice.
The role can be based at any of CHAS’s main sites, with frequent travel to others.
The salary is expected to be c. £98,000, depending on experience, and will be attractive to nurses working at very senior roles in the NHS and other organisations. A higher salary may be provided to exceptional candidates who are already working beyond this level. Membership of the NHS Scotland or Local Government Pension Scheme is provided.
We expect this role to attract interest from Scotland, the UK and internationally so relocation expenses are available.

You will introduce new processes, procedures & partnerships to adopt the highest standards of health & safety to ensure successful ongoing operation of the Hospice. You will be responsible for the overall management of our buildings including the management of hard and soft services, health and safety and statutory compliance and have budgetary management of expenditure.
About You
This important role calls for strong organisational and communication skills with a high degree of planning and attention to detail. Significant experience in the facilities management sector is essential. The successful candidate will also have strong financial skills and be able to work well under pressure. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritise and work under pressure.
