We are currently recruiting for a Development Lead to join our team and provide capacity support for the Third Sector Chief Officer's Group (TSCOG) to deliver upon their main strategic objectives.

The Third Sector Chief Officers Group (TSCOG) was formed in 2016 when a number of CEO’s of Third Sector organisations in South Lanarkshire came together under the auspices of VASLan to support each other during a period of significant strategic and financial challenge and change.The group met fortnightly to play a significant role in providing peer support and sharing information to ensure joined up services during the COVID pandemic.

The TSCOG are now ready to move onto the next stage of their development, with this role providing additional capacity to deliver upon their strategic objectives.

Job Purpose:

This role is a shared resource for the TSCOG, hosted within VASLan with the workplan directed by a TSCOG Steering Group.

Priorities:

• Strategic Engagement

o Improve engagement between TSCOG members, locality and thematic networks, and the wider third sector

• Being Collaborative

o Develop consortia documentation and process which can be applied to opportunities where appropriate, and share with the wider sector

• Income & Strategic Commissioning

o Support collaboration to attract external or local funding to localities and mechanisms for distribution and governance.

In summary its enhancing the funding support offer to the sector with TSCOG orgs showing some leadership to leverage more resources into SL.

Purpose of role: This role will recruit, train and co-ordinate dissemination of the East Dunbartonshire Health and well being status information which has been gathered through the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Adult Health and Wellbeing Survey. The dissemination of the information will be delivered through Health & Wellbeing volunteers within and to communities and then to support small projects that arise as a consequence of that engagement.

We work alongside the sector, partners and communities to address key local priorities, build capacity and maximise investment in our region. As part of the national network of Third Sector Interfaces across Scotland, our joint manifesto sets out commitments to enhancing and developing the role of the third sector as a key partner; a focus on place, community and locality; volunteering and the strengths of local people & communities; a fairer and wellbeing-focussed economy.

We’re now looking for an experienced leader in the third sector to join us as our Lead for Children, Young People and Families,

You will lead development of our priorities for children, young people and families, engaging with third sector organisations, partners and stakeholders. This will include learning from the sector across Dumfries and Galloway working alongside children, young people and families, highlighting the work and impact of the sector across the region and building models of support, learning and collaboration. You will also understand and support the interpretation of national and regional policy for the sector.

Our Lead Officer is integral to supporting our sector involvement in Children’s Services Planning and supporting our representation in the Children’s Services Strategy & Planning Partnership. Given the significant focus on children and family involvement, there may be times where the Lead Officer will facilitate or take part in consultation and forum activities involving children, parents and carers. For this reason, full PVG registration will be required.

As a member of our Lead Officer Group, there will also be active participation in wider organisational planning and delivery to ensure progress towards our medium-term outcomes.

To be successful, you’ll join us with experience in a programme or leadership role within the third sector and bring a good understanding of third sector children, young people and family policy in Scotland. About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide inspirational regional team leadership for designated Regional and Area Associations and local volunteers. In this role, you will drive the delivery of outstanding member benefits, sports, and leisure events at a local level using member insight gathered from local members.

Responsibilities:

At CSSC, we must ensure that our offer, both locally and nationally, provides our members with a great experience and enables them to do the things they love. To help us achieve this, you will:

• Support volunteers in delivering a regional and local programme aligned with CSSC's strategy, mission, vision, and values.

• Use the local member insight to deliver what our members are looking for, as well as introduce them to new opportunities and activities.

• Ensure adherence to operating processes, framework, and legislation.

• Enhance volunteer skills and experiences, celebrate volunteering, and attract new volunteers to CSSC.

• Collaborate with the Regional Chair and volunteers to monitor progress, attend local meetings, and evaluate the delivery of activities and events.

• Foster effective networking and collaboration across the team, champion best practice and seek out new ideas and ways of doing things.

• Attract, recruit, and induct new volunteers to ensure confidence and excellent service provision for our members.

• Ensure key volunteering roles have potential successors, retaining and developing the services and commitment of volunteers with CSSC.

Key Skills & Experience: Essential

• Minimum of 3 years relevant volunteer management experience.

• Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Full UK driving license (travel required).

Desirable

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in volunteer management (not essential but advantageous).

• Experience with building and working with high-performing teams.

• Working knowledge of CRM and digital Event Management Systems.
