Do you want to improve the lives of those living with epilepsy?
Do you want to use your skills to make a difference?
If yes, consider joining Epilepsy Scotland as a volunteer trustee!
Since 1954 we have offered support to anyone affected by epilepsy.
Anyone can be diagnosed with epilepsy at any age. We believe people living with the condition have the right to be free from stigma, to have access to high quality medical, social, educational support and information services, be valued in society and determine their own way of life.
To that end we fight discrimination and stigma experienced by people with epilepsy, we influence public policy to achieve the best practice for people living with epilepsy, we work to ensure appropriate services and support are available and we sustain an effective, supportive and financially secure organisation to let us do all that.
Our Board of Trustees support us to achieve our vision and strategy. We need diverse thinkers who can push us to achieve more and better represent people affected by epilepsy. The role is rewarding and you will have the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to effect change.
We are particularly keen to appoint individuals with:
Experience of sales
Knowledge of marketing, particularly social media marketing
Experience of teaching/education
We are fully committed to increasing the diversity of our board. A more diverse board will:
• Better reflect the diverse community we support.
• Offer a broader range of perspectives about issues people living with epilepsy experience.
• Be more creative in generating ideas and solutions.
• Improve decision making.
To achieve this we would like to recruit people with different skills, life experiences and from different backgrounds. We would especially welcome applications from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates.
If you want to help us provide the best possible service to the 55,000 people living with epilepsy in Scotland, and are willing to volunteer as a Trustee please contact Helen Hollywood, Office Manager by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 01414 4274911 who will provide further details.
Applications close 26 May.
