As our organisational Learning and Development (L&D) Manager based within the Human Resources Team, you will work with colleagues to maintain consistent organisational standards and embed sectoral best practice across all learning materials for support staff and managers. You will also support the wide-ranging development requirements of our central support teams and associated strategic projects.
Responsibilities & Success Factors:
Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the consistency and high standards of Carr Gomm’s Learning and Development activity, line managing appropriate colleagues and supporting organisational projects.
Success in this role includes:
- Leading the co-production process to maintain organisational standards across all learning materials, including undertaking research and embedding best practice where possible;
- Researching and implementing appropriate continual professional development and accredited learning opportunities, and leadership programmes for community development professionals and central support teams;
- Applying adult learning theories to ensure employees get the best out of their development;
- Ensuring the learning and development components of organisational systems (including Care Planner, LearnPro and our SQA Assessment Centre registration) are effective, efficient and reliable for informing analysis and decision making;
- Monitoring, assessing and reporting on the impact of learning and development tools and programmes throughout the organisation;
This list is by no means exhaustive; rather it gives a flavour of the joy that can be achieved in this multi-faceted role. Travel may be required, assuming the environment is safe to do so.

We expect you to proactively plan and prioritise multiple projects; ensuring that our learning materials are relevant and impactful. You will have experience of all aspects of learning and development, gained in a social care environment with the self-assurance to influence and inspire others. You will also engage with the external social care and L&D environment, keeping abreast of innovations and best practice. Professional qualifications are desirable.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager for our Rural locality, you will be responsible for leading and managing by working closely with the Service Managers and the Local Management Team. You will ensure that the services are contractually compliant and managed within budget and organisational policies. You will be working within a busy and dynamic team, which requires the flexibility to be reactive to the everchanging environment.

About the role
As a Service Manager, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As Service Manager you will also:
• Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
• Where a need or an opportunity is identified, assist in the development of new services
• Ensure agreed standards of service delivery in compliance with relevant legislation, National Care Standards and purchaser requirements.
• To support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
• Ensure compliance with the Scottish Social Services Council Code of Practice.
• Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
• Ensure that all Turning Point Scotland policies and procedures are adhered to.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
• Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
• The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment

At Turning Point Scotland Perth & Kinross, we deliver services for people who have a learning disability or autism and unique and complex behaviours which challenge the service: many of the individuals we support have some forensic histories. We support people who live in 24/7 supported accommodation projects. We also provide support within our outreach service to people with learning disabilities within the area of Perth, Kinross and Blairgowrie/Rattray.
The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.

Homelessness Prevention Coordinator North – North Scotland

We are looking for a manager to lead our established Community Support and Development team in Aberdeen and Inverness. The post will oversee a team of four staff members (1.6 FTE).
Our targeted homelessness prevention projects are tailored to local needs and work in partnership with churches. We engage with individuals in communities to revitalise areas where the potential for homelessness is a real concern.
The role will involve overseeing a variety of work including the work of an existing Community Development Worker who oversees a drop-in on King Street in Aberdeen, Recovery & Resettlement Workers in Aberdeen and Inverness and a Women and Families Worker based in Torry.
Candidates will require significant experience and passion for working with people from a range of backgrounds including vulnerable individuals and a personal drive to see positive change in lives of people on the margins of society.
The role is open to opportunities for flexible working in conversation with the Director of Homelessness Prevention.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced manager to oversee the day-to-day management of Cruse Scotland West Area, this includes our teams in Ayrshire & Arran; Dumfries; Dunbartonshire; Glasgow & Greater Glasgow; Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire.
Candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to provide managerial support, which is often provided from a distance.
Excellent communication skills are essential as the postholder is required to respond effectively to a wide range of enquiries which includes bereaved people. You will be required to establish effective working relationships with a range of Cruse Scotland volunteers and staff, as well as statutory funders and grant making trusts. Experience of volunteer management would be advantageous.
Due to the wide geographical spread of the role, the postholder will be required to travel occasionally to each of the service bases within our West Area; and to other locations within Scotland for meetings and training.
Whilst the role can be hybrid, we have recently secured a new office base in Glasgow so there will be a regular requirement to have a routine presence in the office.
