greenspace scotland is looking to recruit an experienced and creative Programme Manager to lead the development and delivery of this important national initiative working with artists, cultural organisations and communities to commemorate and reflect on Scotland's experiences during the pandemic.

The Covid Community Memorial programme was announced by the First Minister on 23 March 2021. Through the programme communities across Scotland will be supported by artists, artistic partnerships, creative practitioners and cultural organisations to develop projects that help them reflect on the impact of the pandemic – supporting remembrance and reflection, hope and healing.

greenspace scotland and local partners will commission artists to engage with community groups, faith groups and those hardest hit by the pandemic to shape ideas that benefit communities, reflect people’s experiences of the pandemic and commemorate those who have lost their lives to coronavirus.

The Covid Community Memorial projects, which could include commemorative gardens, memorials and artworks, are supported with £4.1 million provided by the Scottish Government and administered by greenspace scotland.

As Creative Programme Manager you will lead on all aspects of developing, managing and coordinating the national Covid Community Memorial programme. This will include working across all 32 Scottish local authority areas to support local organisations and partnerships to develop briefs to commission and manage artistic/creative practitioners to engage creatively with communities; and, managing at £3million fund to realise the projects and activities identified by these creative engagements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of working in the arts, culture or creative industries, coupled with experience of participatory approaches where creative practitioners and communities work collaboratively. You will be a strong team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and extensive experience of project and programme management, and coordinating partnership projects.
