The RCSEd is an independent membership organisation concerned principally with the education, training and assessment of Surgeons, Dental Surgeons and healthcare professionals who are involved in the clinical care of patients. Founded in 1505, the RCSEd currently has a global membership approaching 30,000.
The RCSEd currently provides office accommodation, administrative services and staff resource to the BAOS (see below).

About the British Association of Oral Surgeons
The BAOS is an independent membership organisation and represents practitioners with a special interest in Oral Surgery in both Primary and Secondary Care. The Association’s aims are to promote the development of Specialist Oral Surgery practice and address issues relating to NHS and private practice, training, clinical governance, and post-specialist training.
About the Role
The BAOS Business Manager represents a newly created role intended to provide a high level of professional, business, and administrative resource to support the delivery of BAOS strategic objectives as well as more effective direct support to the BAOS trustees. As well as overseeing the day-to-day management of all aspects of the BAOS office and the supervision and development of a Senior Administrator, the Business Manager will provide direct professional support and advice to the BAOS Council and office bearers on a full range of issues relevant to a small independent charity and business.
There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills
The Business Manager must be able to demonstrate significant business and financial acumen (preferably relating to the charitable or not-for-profit sector), previous success in managing and developing staff as well as experience of managing projects and/or diverse portfolios of activity. You will be required to bring to bear good judgement, critical thinking, and strategic awareness, as well as the highly developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. This role will suit a flexible and adaptable individual with significant organisational, management and business experience who can work well under the reasonable pressures of time and resource constraints.
You will be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate significant relevant experience.
