Barnardo's Rights and Advocacy service has been established in Fife for over 15 years. After a recent successful recommissioning process, from April 1st 2021, Barnardo's Children's Rights and Advocacy service will continue to provide all Rights and Advocacy work for children and young people in Fife. As a result of this process, the service is looking to expand the team to meet the requirements in the new service brief.
The service is looking for a Project Worker 2 to take forward the Engagement and Participation aspect of the new service brief that the team will work to. You will have a passion for Children's Rights/Advocacy work and desire to ensure that the voice of the child is heard at a local and strategic level when decisions are being made about their future.
You will have experience of Rights/Advocacy work with children and young people, experience of groupwork and an ability to be flexible in your approach to the work. The Rights/Adovcacy service will be aligning its practice in line with the recommendations made in The Promise and an understanding of this document would be advantageous.
The main thrust of this post is a developmental one but from time to time, you will be expected to carry a small caseload of Rights/Advocacy work should the need arise eg to cut down a waiting list, to cover sick/annual leave.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to be at the forefront of Rights/Advocacy work in Fife and be part of driving forward and shaping the participation and engagement aspect of the service.
If you would like an informal discussion or more information, please contact either Vicky Hunter or Murdo Mathers of 01592 651482
