Role
We are looking to recruit a permanent Assistant Manager to join our small team based in Raploch. This post involves working in partnership with the current Manager to oversee the services delivered by Home-Start Stirling. This post involves the management and supervision of staff and volunteers, supporting the strategic development of the organisation and ongoing monitoring and development. In addition, you may undertake a small amount of direct work with families supported by Home-Start Stirling. Previous experience of working with children and families is essential. Experience of working within the voluntary sector would be an advantage as would a leadership role in a relevant discipline.
Full driving licence and use of a car would be desirable but not essential.
This post is also subject to registration with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) and therefore the candidate will have to hold a minimum level of SCQF Level 7 or 8 in a relevant field and be prepared to work towards a qualification at Level 9 .
The salary is on a fixed point for the current time and is subject to a salary review in summer 2021.

Home-Start Lorn is a well established, small charity, serving the communities of Oban, Lorn and Mull, whose volunteers provide support, friendship, practical help and guidance to young families with at least one child under the age of 5. Our aim is support parents to develop strong relationships with their children and to fully engage with their communities and local services.
We are looking to replace our long serving manager of 24 years to direct the day-to-day operations of the charity and to work in partnership with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective strategic management and the ongoing development of our work.
The successful candidate will be passionate about early years support for families, have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, have experience of managing and developing a similar service and of leading a team in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations
Last year 88 families including almost 200 children were supported by staff and a team of 24 volunteers.

Product Development Manager

Children 1st Fundraising is going through a period of growth as part of our three-year fundraising strategy. To support in the delivery of our strategic aims we are looking to develop and test new products that will continue to engage and inspire different audiences.
The Product Development Manager will lead on the development and operational implementation of new products, and the evaluation of existing fundraising activities to ensure their continued effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker with a strong grounding in delivering effective fundraising, an analytical approach with an eye for detail and the ability to manage complex operational challenges. Experience of working with product development, project management and continuous improvement methodologies would be desirable.
This is permanent, full time post of 35 hours per week. The successful candidate can be home based with access to bases in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

At Options Lothian we offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us there. Our service is open from Fridays to Sundays every week.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring our young people live their best lives. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role. We are looking for someone who will contribute to the leadership, management and development of the service for children, young people and their families in line with agreed objectives and assist with service review and evaluation.
You will have relevant experience of working with children and young people with a disability and/or autism in a community or residential setting and understand the impact of disability on inclusion. You are required to meet the qualifications requirement for this post which is at SCQF Level 7 (e.g. HNC, SVQ Level 3) and a practice qualification in a management category or SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 9. This post requires you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as both a Residential Child Care Worker with Supervisory Responsibilities and a Supervisor in a Housing Support Service.
There is an expectation that you will mainly be working these hours Friday-Sunday offering direct support to the young people as part of our residential rota, this will include evenings, weekends, nights and public holidays. There is also the requirement to undertake the occasional sleep over or night awake shift.

You will work alongside our small team to support the implementation of an effective communications and volunteer strategy that raises the profile of the charity in order to increase reach and engagement. You will have primary responsibility for the production of marketing materials, designing publications, creating content for Dr Bell’s social media platforms as well as managing the website in line with our charity’s strategy and values. You will manage and support prospective and current volunteers and student placements as well as promoting, publicising and raising awareness of volunteering opportunities. Working closely with our Fundraising Officer, you will also be supporting the development of a new community fundraising income stream for the charity.
