Would you like to deliver early intervention and prevention work, in a variety of youth settings?
The service
WDP Cheshire West and Chester is an established community substance misuse service. We actively promote recovery and work with individuals, those affected by someone else’s substance misuse, and the local community to improve the health, wellbeing and functioning of residents.
The role
The successful candidate will work flexibly across a variety of community settings to reach out to young people, engaging with professionals to develop pathways between local services, such as A&E, Mental Health & Youth Offending. Offering bespoke interventions to young people, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of universal, targeted and specialist services.
This role plays a key part in preventing young people engaging in substance misuse and other risk-taking behaviour. As such, the successful candidate will be required to deliver a range of drug and alcohol programmes, tailored to the needs of the local communities. Innovation and partnership working are essential skills required for this role.
Conditions
· Salary band of £21,018 - £26,500 pro rata
· Fixed Term until January 2022
· 25 hours per week
Location
WDP Cheshire West and Chester works across Chester, Ellesmere Port and Northwich. The successful candidate must be able to work across all sites as well as a number of evenings and weekends.

About Aberlour Options Fife - Respite and Outreach
Options Fife Respite and Outreach provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We work closely with families and other professionals in providing support tailored around the child’s plan.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit two Young People’s Worker Nights, working four nights on (10 hours per night) every second week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. Due to SSSC requirements you may be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.

About Aberlour Routes Falkirk
Routes is an evidence-based youth work programme which supports young people aged 12-26 years affected by someone else’s alcohol or drug use. Routes offers a mix of one-to-one and group support, along with a busy programme of activities and events bringing young people together. There is no time limit to their involvement, allowing trust to develop with workers and other young people, and all support is individually tailored to each young person.
The Routes model engages young people to effect change in their lives, recognising that living with chaos and trauma in your family does not need to lead to poor outcomes. With the right support, young people can take a very different path, and have a positive future.

As a Young People’s Worker, you will offer community-based support to young people through one-to-one and group support, plan and deliver a programme of activities and organise events bringing young people together.

We provide services in the areas of physical and learning disabilities, autism, young people and older people. Further services include supporting positive mental health and wellbeing, homelessness, and drug and alcohol recovery. We work in people’s homes, in the community, and in temporary and supported accommodation.
The Service
We have positions in three of our services in the following areas of Edinburgh - Leith, Tollcross and Bruntsfield. We support individuals who are homeless and most likely have experienced some level of trauma, exclusion, and stigma in their life.
The Job
As a service we provide emotional and practical support with a harm reduction ethos. You will offer support to individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills.
