ENABLE Works are recruiting for a Digital Diversity Specialist, to bring in skills and abilities in developing new and exciting services and support, for young people in Dundee.
Your role as a Digital Diversity Specialist within ENABLE Works is to play an integral role in the development of a Digital Creativity Hub, in partnership with D&A College, to provide specialist training and support, alongside the established Digital Dundee partnership being delivered for neurodivergent individuals, interested in learning more about the digital sectors of employment.
You will work closely with learners and play a key role in identifying referrals for the Digital Dundee course, working closely with referral partners and organisations. You will support learners through courses, in collaboration with D&A College faculty. You will work with every learner, to ensure they progress into a positive destination, including supporting learners to secure paid employment opportunities, within the digital and tech sectors, whilst ensuring aftercare is delivered for every learner.
You will lead on partnership building with key employers in the digital and tech sectors in Dundee, and across Tayside, creating new links and partnerships to create opportunities for our clients and learners. This will require high-level negotiation and partnership skills, and ideally you will already have established relationships to build from.
About You
PERSON CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL:
- Full UK Driver’s License
- Further / Higher Education learning in relevant subject(s)
- A commitment to, and understanding in, employability – supporting individuals to progress into employment
- High level digital support / digital inclusion knowledge
- Knowledge of the local labour market, regarding digital and tech sector employers
- Ability to partner and negotiate with stakeholders
- Professional presentation and personality
- Self-management skills and the ability to meet duties effectively
- Proactive and collaborative approach to team work
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- Experience of working to deadlines and timescales on delivering pieces of work
- Experience of achieving success through innovation
- Experience in the creation and coordination of digital content
- Experience with visual communication principles
DESIRABLE:
- Knowledge of local authority areas, and employability networks in these areas
- Effective project management skills and ability to think strategically to achieve long term goals
- Experience of delivering, or supporting, employability programmes, including for example Fair Start Scotland / Dundee Pipeline.
- Experience of working with people who have multiple and/or complex barriers
- PDA Level 7 in Supported Employment

Visibility Scotland are seeking to recruit a Qualified Habilitation Specialist or someone who is currently undergoing the Habilitation course to provide a person centred Habilitation service that meets the specific needs of children and young people who live with a visual impairment. The post holder will be expected to build upon existing relationships and forge new partnerships with professionals and other organisations to ensure Visibility Scotland is positively represented at a local and national level.
The post holder will provide multi–disciplinary support to ensure connectivity and access to all services for each service user. The Habilitation programme will provide an innovative tool-kit of strategies that will aim to provide each child or young person with the knowledge and skills to develop their confidence, independence and long term resilience. The key areas that support and training cover are mobility, travel, independent living skills and technology.
Candidates will be expected to have a sound knowledge of visual impairment and how visual impairment and additional disabilities can impact children, young people and their families.
This post will include some evening and weekend working as well as travel across Central Scotland. The successful candidate must be flexible, highly motivated and be able to work as part of a team but also work independently when required.
Please note that the post comes with a £5,000 relocation lump sum and either access to a pool car or a car allowance.

Collective Advocacy Development Worker

To support collective advocacy for citizens with learning disabilities who are living as patients within three hospital settings. Meeting with and supporting those citizens to meet together, (all activity will be in accordance with appropriate government restrictions regarding COVID19).
Encouraging and supporting discussion of issues from their own lives and the lives of other people who have learning disabilities. The worker will facilitate members’ support of each other and work with groups and individual members to consider and develop suggestions, solutions and demands. The worker will support member representatives to bring ideas and issues to the attention of those who control services as well as those who develop policy and law. All activity tackles the inequalities and discrimination that members face and is designed to bring about improvements in the life experience of people with learning disabilities in Scotland.
