Do you want to be part of an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of Scotland’s children, young people, and families?
We are looking to recruit a Child and Family Worker to join our Family Support Service in South Ayrshire. The Family Service supports whole families where mum or dad has a learning disability, learning need or Autism. We recognise strengths and work to understand family circumstances to build confidence, improve skills and enable parents to provide a safe nurturing environment for their children.
By offering whole family support, building on capabilities and working through trusting relationships we aim to help families flourish at home, at school and in the community, minimising the need for statutory intervention.
Our service works closely with partner agencies in South Ayrshire to provide specialised support to families where parents have a learning need, and the children are aged between 0 – 16 years. You will support families to complete an assessment which recognises their own strengths and needs, deliver parenting support individually and in groups, improve parent’s knowledge of child development and help families connecting to the community\local services.
We are looking for candidates who are experienced in working alongside families to assess strengths and needs as well as plan, deliver and evaluate interventions\ strategies which support families to thrive. You will have experience of child and adult protection issues. You must share our vision that collaborative working, and relationship based early intervention is the best option for children and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded.
We are looking to recruit a Child and Family Worker to work 37.5 hours per week, you will work these hours Monday- Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm. You may be occasionally asked to work out with these hours to facilitate group sessions with parents and families. This post will be offered on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2022.
