At Aberlour we understand and listen to what our young people want and need within our local area. As such, our new Options Fife – Housing Support service based in Glenrothes will support young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.
At Aberlour we believe every young person has the right to flourish. Our new Options Fife- Housing Support and Care at Home service will be home to 4 young people aged 16 plus who will all have their own individual flat. As Service Manager, you will play a fundamental role in our young people’s lives to ensure that they get the best possible experience whilst working towards goals in their care plan. Using a person centred approach you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical and emotional care; supporting our young people in their daily living and to fully participate in the local community.
What are we looking for?
As Service Manager, you will lead, manage and develop services for children, young people and families in line with service objectives and Aberlour’s strategic planning framework. Relevant experience and knowledge of best practice in supporting young people with autism, learning disability and/or complex health needs in a community, and an understanding of the impact of disability on inclusion are essential requirements. Knowledge and experience of child protection is essential.
You will be responsible for the development and delivery of the service to meet outcomes agreed with the local authority. You will be expected to report regularly to the service funder to evidence that we are meeting the agreed targets. You will have direct practice experience within this field and have experience of supporting and managing staff.
You will have experience of empowering, working and engaging with young people and their families in order to achieve positive outcomes. You will have previous managerial experience preferably within a residential childcare setting, an ability to motivate, support and supervise others and you will possess effective planning and organisational skills.
You will have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 9 or above, plus a management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above, or equivalent knowledge acquired by other means. You are required to be registered with the SSSC and hold or be willing to work towards relevant professional qualifications to meet SSSC registration requirements.
