Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people experiencing fuel poverty and food insecurity.

Our team of 40 staff and 100 volunteers delivers a wide range of grant-funded projects and social enterprise (income-generating) activities, including the Lang Toun Cycles Community Bike Shop and The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen. We work in Kirkcaldy and across the region of Fife, often in partnership with other charities, public-sector organisations and social enterprises. Our work is diverse and includes programmes of action on climate change, fuel poverty and food insecurity, encouraging individuals, households, community groups and businesses to make Fife a greener and fairer place to live.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to play a key role in the delivery of Greener Kirkcaldy’s organisational strategy.

The Business Development Manager will coordinate business development, funding and fundraising across the organisation. They will build internal capacity to support a more enterprising culture and grow our portfolio of social enterprise projects. They will also lead a team to coordinate communications and development services across Greener Kirkcaldy’s projects and teams.

Hours of work: full time (35 hours per week) or 28 hours per week (0.8 full-time equivalent). We would consider requests to work fewer hours.

Purpose of Role

The Equalities Outreach Program (Scotland) is an initiative to open the outdoors to groups that feel excluded and marginalised from the sector. Year one will focus on establishing community-based contacts in urban areas and testing a delivery framework with a focus on refugees, asylum seekers and people from minority ethnic communities.

Your work will be exploratory and experimental in nature, and define how we:

• Create experiences for individuals and community groups.
• Provide skills that support people to enjoy walking independently, and with friends and family.
• Enable community support organisations to embed walking activity into their support offer.
• Create bridges between existing Ramblers groups and marginalised communities.

The role

The initial focus will be on engaging with organisations which support refugees and asylum seekers, and with Scotland’s minority ethnic communities.

Action research. By taking a ‘learning by doing’ approach you will map community assets, evaluate the transferability of existing Ramblers approaches and develop new ways of working that help us to get more people walking. You will be resilient and motivated to learn through creative exploration.

Engaging stakeholders. You will identify and engage with a range of community-based organisations in Scotland. By providing support, advice and training they will extend their programmes to include brilliant walking experiences for community members. You’ll appreciate what partners can bring to the table, and work with them to co-design programmes of activity with and for community members.

Engaging with communities. As a walk leader and a trainer, you will share your passion for walking so that marginalised groups can experience the outdoors. By leading inspiring introductory walks, delivering skills courses in the outdoors, and supporting volunteers, you will bring to life the joy of walking for everyone.

Impact and evaluation. You will understand the importance of gathering data to demonstrate reach and impact. Collaborating with the wider Ramblers team, you will ensure appropriate data and reporting processes are in place to monitor and report on the impact of this work.

Working with volunteers. Collaborating with the wider Ramblers team and our volunteers, you will support us to develop effective ways to build bridges into existing Ramblers walking groups, helping to create a warm welcome for everyone.

Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post holder by the Ramblers.

• Lowland leader or Hill and Moorland leader qualification (or the ability to work towards qualification immediately).

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the Individual Giving Team with membership administration and fundraising tasks. You will provide an excellent customer service experience to the Trust’s members, donors and supporters and play a key role in the efficient administration of the membership lifecycle (set up, renewal and terminations) plus processing of donations and merchandise sales.

greenspace scotland is looking to recruit an experienced and creative Project Officer to support the delivery of this important national initiative working with artists, cultural organisations and communities to reflect on Scotland's experiences during the pandemic.

Remembering Together is a national programme of remembrance managed by greenspace scotland and funded by Scottish Government, bringing together communities and artists/creative practitioners in collective acts of reflection, remembrance, hope and healing.

Through commissions in all 32 local authority areas in Scotland artists have been co-creating with communities, exploring who, what and how they want to remember and honour all those affected by Covid. Offering a place to connect, to reflect and to create, Remembering Together is about creating together, being part of a process to commemorate those who have lost their lives, those who have experienced loss and change as well as celebrating the ways in which Scottish communities have come together during a difficult time.

Co-creation lies at the heart of it. In phase 1, artists were commissioned to work within a community to explore, through co-creation, what their local memorial will be, which could include commemorative gardens, events, physical or digital artworks, etc. The projects will be delivered in phase 2.

The project is reaching the end of the first phase and we’re looking for a project officer to support the transition to and delivery of Phase 2.

As Project Officer you will support the Programme Co-Leads to deliver, manage and coordinate the national programme. This will include working across all 32 Scottish local authority areas, to support local organisations and artists’ partnerships in developing their proposals within a £3.2 million fund to realise the projects and activities identified by these creative engagements.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of working in the arts, culture or creative industries, coupled with experience of participatory approaches where creative practitioners and communities work collaboratively. You will be a strong team player, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and experience of project management, and working in partnership.
