Role

Community Resources Network Scotland (CRNS) are Scotland’s national reuse, repair and recycling charity.

At CRNS we have a vision is to see a circular economy in Scotland where resources are not wasted in landfill, but instead, they are reused, repaired and recycled. We work with a wide variety of our members to deliver this vision. Our membership is growing and ranges from bike projects to repair cafes, tool libraries to food banks, charity shops to environmental education charities. What unites us is delivering the social and environmental benefits which flow from a more circular economy.

Our work at CRNS is growing and we need to bring in a new team member to underpin, support and accelerate this growth.

The role of Communications and Campaigns Officer is brand new for us, so we are really excited about it. This means there is a significant opportunity for the successful candidate to (re)invent our communications and campaigning going forward and make a major contribution to us as an organisation and the wider sector that we serve. We are also determined to get the right person to join our strong team which is why we are open to exploring different options regarding hours and place of work.

Perhaps you are a communications and marketing professional in business who is attracted by our social and environmental purpose. Or maybe you are working in a communications and campaigning role in the third sector and looking for a fresh challenge. Either way you should be a strong team-player, proactive self-starter, have excellent communication skills and committed to high standards of delivery.

This is a really exciting time for communications and campaigning at CRNS. On the communications side we are about to rebrand and rename ourselves which will help us to position the organisation for rapid future growth. On the campaigning side, COP26 will provide a once in a generation environmental focus here in Scotland. It is a great time to join our team to help take the organisation to the next level.

More details about the role can be found in the job description and person specification below.

More details about the organisation can be found on the CRNS website.
