Role

This post within Penumbra leads the effective delivery of our people strategy across the organisation, providing support to the Senior Management team and all Penumbra staff on all people related issues, including human resources and learning and development. The post-holder will lead a comprehensive HR support service by providing advice and support to all managers and staff and will ensure the effective delivery of our learning and development functions and programme.

Responsibilities

  • To be a member of the Senior Management Team contributing regular People reports and updates on specific projects
  • Maintain an up to date People Policy framework that supports our managers and staff to comply with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Lead and manage the Learning & Development function.
  • Advise managers and staff in the application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
  • Ensure all HR administration is complete and up to date.
  • Maintain and update the HR IT system.
  • Produce accurate information for the monthly payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory body requirements.
  • Ensure staff are appropriately registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Ensure staff are meeting the qualifications requirements of the appropriate SSSC registers.
  • Provide advice and support for the effective management of employee relations casework: including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence.
  • Provide advice and support during redundancy and TUPE processes.
  • Provide advice and support for the successful management of organisational change.
  • Ensure HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legislation and organisational policy.
  • Coach and develop line managers to increase their effectiveness in managing individuals and team performance.
  • Develop and facilitate management skills training courses.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues to monitor, review, update and launch policies in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • Identify, develop and implement HR projects and initiatives.
  • Produce and analyse HR Management Information and HR Board Reports.
  • Work to continuously to improve the HR and L&D services delivered and enhance organisational performance.
  • Ensure all HR systems and processes comply with GDPR.
