Options Moray has a strong reputation for delivering effective person-centred long term, shared care and short break services to children and young people with complex physical and learning disabilities. Our team provides a nurturing, safe, stimulating and trusted environment for the children we support, giving their families peace of mind while their child is in our care.

What are we looking for?

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Service Manager who will work as part of the management team to support delivery of excellent services and contribute to the continuing development of the service.

Our service is registered for up to 7 young people to stay per 24 hours. With 2 single occupancy flats on site and 5 available bedrooms, for short breaks, most of our stays are on a planned basis. We also work with families to build person-centred Care at Home packages.

We take pride in delivering high quality services going above and beyond basic compliance. You will assist the Service Manager in making sure that quality measures are put in place and that organisational and external requirements are met, including from local authorities, the Care Inspectorate and also Health and Safety legislation.

You will play a key role in modelling excellent practice and supporting the team to develop and deliver best practice, providing advice and professional supervision to members of the team as required.

This is a challenging and stimulating role where the ability to build positive communication relationships and support staff to do so is crucial. There is an expectation that you will work 20% of your weekly hours offering direct support to the children and young people as part of our residential rota, this can include evenings, weekends and public holidays. There is also the requirement to undertake the occasional sleep over.

A relevant qualification at SCQF level 9 (e.g. SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) or above is essential together with a practice qualification in the management category and the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate significant experience of working with young people in a residential setting.

This post requires you to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council and undergo PVG checks prior to taking up the role.
