Role

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is an independent Scottish charity, whose mission is to be the community of support, kindness and challenge where people can help each other, can secure the expert help they need, and collectively advocate for the care that matters to them. We offer vital advice, support and information to those affected so that they can live the lives they want to live and influence public policy to ensure that people get the services that they need. Our renewed ambition is to become Scotland’s leading organisation for person-centred, user-led community support for people with our health conditions.

The CHSS Health Defence programme focusses on the secondary prevention and self-management of our conditions in the communities of Drumchapel and Maryhill in Glasgow.

The purpose of this role is to engage with people and communities to influence the design and development of the Health Defence programme to ensure that it fits their needs.

The role holder will use the principles of community development to understand the collective needs across the three conditions and enable communities to improve their health and wellbeing leaving a lifelong legacy.

The role will contribute to the development of community engagement and co-design frameworks and models that support, develop, connect, and empower communities to take action on what matters to them.

CHSS employees enjoy a variety of organisational benefits including: Company pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, company sick pay, employee welfare support and life assurance.
