North Argyll Carers Centre seeks to recruit a Young Carer Service Coordinator

North Argyll Carers Centre is a value-based charity, which supports those who look after a family member or friend due to illness, disability, frailty or addiction on an unpaid basis. We are affiliated to Carers Trust.

We are seeking to recruit a Young Carer Service Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers across the Oban Lorn and Isles area. Our Young Carer Service Coordinator will lead the Young Carer Support Team and oversee the ongoing development of the Young Carer Service to ensure we deliver the highest standards of emotional and practical support to young and young adult carers.

Key duties:

• Line Management of the Young Carer Support Worker team, being their first point of contact, setting targets, managing performance, overseeing their wellbeing and identifying opportunities for their personal development

• Responsibility for the smooth running of the Young Carer Service, ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are implemented to maintain safe and effective delivery of service.

• Oversight of the production of Young Carer Statements and collection of data for statutory and non-statutory funders.

The successful applicant will have significant experience of youth work, leading and supervising a team, managing service delivery, facilitation of groups and implementing change. They will be resilient, self-motivated and confident; a team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; practical and methodical with a keen eye for detail.

A full driving licence and access to own vehicle is required for this post.

Interviews to be held in the week beginning 15th March 2021. First round interviews will be held remotely via Zoom with a second round face-to-face meeting for those taken forward.
