Role
ENABLE Works are the leading Scottish organisation delivering high quality employability services for people who have learning disabilities across Inverness and the surrounding area.
Your job will support people who have learning disabilities to make progress towards and achieve employment. You will work closely with a group of people who have learning disabilities each year, profiling their skills and jointly planning activity that will enable them to achieve their work goals and become independent, active members of their community.
You will be responsible for developing positive relationships with the programme participants, their circles of support and professional support services.
You will work closely with local partners, including employers, funders and other stakeholders, developing professional relationships that will offer a diverse range of experiences and opportunities.
You will be given a work plan to achieve in order that programme participants are receiving a quality service and we are achieving the expectations of funders and stakeholders, and you will be required to meet challenging but achievable programme targets.
As an important member of the wider ENABLE Works team, you will be supporting departmental objectives through delivery of support but also through positive collaboration and innovation within your team to support our strategic, societal goals.
A full UK drivers licence and access to a car for work purposes is essential for this role.
BSL Qualified desirable.

Senior Fundraising Officer

Following a restructure, we are seeking a Senior Fundraising Officer to develop and lead on a range of activities including third-party, community and virtual events, and corporate fundraising. ENABLE Works are the leading Scottish organisation delivering high quality employability services for people who have learning disabilities.
Your role is to lead one of five ENABLE Works regional areas, delivering support services across Edinburgh and the Lothians, including leading our All In Edinburgh consortium across Edinburgh City.
You will lead on the (1) delivery of performance and quality standards, (2) meeting of compliance and contractual requirements and (3) developing new business opportunities to support people who have additional support needs into work.
You will lead a small team of Employability Team Leaders, supporting their development as leaders and ensuring your wider team of Employment Coordinators deliver high quality services. You will engage strategically with both local and national contract managers, ensuring contracts are delivered and relationships maintained. You will lead on developing new business, in partnership with the Assistant Director of Development, creating new opportunities for services, securing, and implementing them.
You will play a key role in how ENABLE Works influences policy and support for people who have learning disabilities in Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Team Leaders to manage the quality and performance of a wider team
- Support the development of senior staff through effective mentoring
- Oversee and report on overall operations and staffing for the region
- Deliver an agreed performance and quality target annually
- Coordinate compliant information systems and reporting systems in line with contract standards.

- Liaise with funders and partners regarding contract delivery, ensuring contracts are maintained
- Develop and maintain relationships with agreed organisations, negotiating new opportunities
- Lead on the development of grant applications and tenders for new services
- Deliver an agreed business development target annually
- Manage effective implementation and integration of new services into ENABLE Works

ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we are looking for a dynamic and motivated National Self Directed Support Project Coordinator to join us in ensuring every person who has a learning disability can access their right to choose and direct their own social care support.
ENABLE Scotland believes in the power of human rights driven, person-centred social care, and we want every person who has a learning disability and their family carer who needs it, to access it – and for their support to be designed by them to live the life they choose. This exciting, brand new role builds on the success of our established Self Directed Support (SDS) project in Fife which has supported hundreds of individuals with learning disabilities and their families in that area to access information about their rights to self-directed support, and to navigate their way through the system to access and direct their own social care support to live the life they choose. This innovative national post will take the learning from that project and make it available to individuals and families everywhere in Scotland - the first national advice line for individuals who have a learning disability and families who want to access SDS support
The National SDS Service will work alongside ENABLE Scotland’s Family Connect helpline, which will be the route for families and individuals who have a learning disability themselves to access the service. We are looking for someone who is values driven, passionate about change and able to support individuals and families to visualise how this should happen through values driven social care practice.
The National SDS Service will provide people with learning disabilities and their family carers across Scotland with accurate and up to date information and impartial advice about self directed support. It will link them to local community resources, support and organisations to enable them to achieve the outcomes that are important to them. These referrals will come through Family Connect either through the advice line, email service or through Family Connect seminars.
Your role would involve advocating for individuals with a learning disability and their family carers across Scotland. You will offer up to date advice and guidance on SDS and related challenges across Scotland. You will get to know individuals and families and work to understand their personal situation which will allow you to support them to plan how to meet their outcomes and achieve their goals. You will achieve this through person-centred planning and applying the principles and values that SDS is more than a budget. You will engage with these individuals and their family carers digitally, and in time face-to-face.
You will follow the recording processes of the organisation to document the progress of each individual case you support and will be responsible for keeping case files up to date. You will also support with reporting on the outcomes of the service.
You will build connections across Scotland with partner organisations to offer localised support to individuals and families where required. Through building these connections you will also promote the service and the increase the number of individuals and families we support.
You will engage digitally with individuals, family carers and partner organisations through social media. This will include having an ENABLE Scotland specific Twitter and Facebook profile and engaging through the Family Connect social media.
You will also build a knowledge base of SDS guidance and policy across different local authorities and pull together themes of SDS challenges across different areas to allow impact on policy-making and funders.
You will host and arrange regular online seminars and workshops for family carers of someone with a learning disability.
You will collect evidence that will help ENABLE Scotland to campaign for better access to self directed human rights driven social care for all.
