FSB is seeking an External Affairs Advisor to join its Scotland based policy and public affairs team. We’re looking for someone with experience in a campaigns-oriented environment who’s eager to develop their skills in a diverse and varied role.

In this role, you will support and assist in coordinating the FSB Scotland Team in three key areas; Campaigns, Communications and Policy Development. We’re looking for someone with experience of working in a small and fast paced team, with the ability to work across and support the whole of the Scotland team on multiple projects. Good organisational and co-ordination skills with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels is essential.

Your work will include developing and producing campaigns material and social media content, responding to media enquiries and drafting press releases and articles for publications. Therefore, excellent written skills and experience of multi-media communications are very important. You may also be required to undertake broadcast media appearances.

You will also be required to support on policy and public affairs work. This will involve undertaking research, developing surveys, collating statistics, drafting consultation responses and providing briefings to colleagues and members. A knowledge of politics and of the Scottish public policy landscape is essential.
