Edinburgh University Students' Association is looking to recruit a Democracy and Campaigns Coordinator to join our Representation & Democracy team.

The Role:

The Democracy and Campaigns Coordinator is responsible for management of the Students’ Association’s democratic processes – including Student Council, online ballots, and ideas submission - with a focus on building engagement and participation.

They will monitor the progress of Students’ Association policy and Sabbatical Officer projects, and liaise with colleagues in the Students’ Association’s Marketing and Communications team to ensure that our work is effectively communicated to our members and other key stakeholders.

Alongside colleagues in the Representation and Democracy team, they will support our five Sabbatical Officers – and particularly the Vice President Community and the President – to pursue their objectives, with a particular focus on issues of transport, housing, sustainability and widening participation.

They will coordinate the Students’ Association’s political engagement, including building and maintaining relationships with relevant local and national politicians, completing consultations, and supporting the Officers in effective lobbying of elected officials.

They will also be responsible for developing and delivering candidate support during our annual election cycles, ensuring that candidates have the knowledge and skills to run effective campaigns.

The Person:
